Minor Surgical Procedures

At Your Health Griffith, our team of Doctors and Nurses are all trained in a range of minor surgical procedures.

The most common procedures performed at Your Health Griffith include; excision of skin lesions and tags, removal of ingrown toenails, suturing of cuts and lacerations, iron infusions, cryotherapy, abscess drainage, Implanon insertion/removal and IUD insertion/removal

Skin lesions must be assessed by your treating doctor prior to booking an excision. The majority of skin lesions are sent to pathology for testing with results available usually within four working days.  A follow-up appointment is made to discuss results and remove sutures.

Treatment of minor injuries and wounds, skin ulcers, removal of stitches and plantar wart treatment is routinely performed by our nurses. Suturing of cuts and lacerations are usually an emergency procedure and we try our best to accommodate these. Please call ahead so we know to expect you. One of our registered nurses will assess you on arrival and decide on the best course of action. In some cases, you may be advised to go straight to the Emergency Department at Griffith Base Hospital.

When booking a Minor Procedure you will be asked to book a double (long) appointment.
